Abkhazia: customs officer detained after attack on Prime Minister

Law enforcers have managed to detain in hot pursuit a car with people who committed an attack on the Prime Minister of Abkhazia Beslan Butba.

Let us remind you that the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on November 15. Beslan Butba’s car was blocked by a roadster; two men got out of it and beat up the Prime Minister. The local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) introduced the "Interception" plan and stopped the car with the attackers with two men and a woman inside.

At the moment, the traumatized Beslan Butba is hospitalized, the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to his relatives.

The MIA has reported that the Opel car stopped at the Eshera check-post was transporting Akhra Yenik, an employee of the Customs Committee, Inal Avidzba and Nyuta Ashuba. According to the MIA, at the moment of detention, Yenik and Avidzba were intoxicated, the “Nuzhnaya Gazeta” reports.

The “Echo of the Caucasus” adds that the three detainees were taken to the MIA, where they are interrogated by MIA employees. The motives of their actions have not been established yet.
