Mayor of Armenian city of Armavir blown up in Karabakh
As a result of a car explosion in Nagorno-Karabakh, today Ruben Khlgatyan, the Mayor of the city of Armavir in Armenia, was wounded. His driver was killed; two other passengers of the car were also wounded.
As reported by the "Armenpress" today, the incident occurred when Khlgatyan's car was driving on the mined territory of the Kashatag District of Nagorno-Karabakh. According to preliminary data, one of the four persons in the car died on the spot, while three others, including Ruben Khlgatyan, were transported by helicopter to Yerevan.
The Mayor of Armavir and two other victims are in the Yerevan Medical Centre "Erebuni" with numerous injuries, the "News-Armenia" has reported today with reference to Shushan Unanyan, the press-secretary of the above medical centre.
Doctors assess their health condition as grave but stable; they are in the intensive care unit.
