In Chechnya, plastic surgeons start free surgeries as part of "Operation Smile"
In Chechnya, a team of specialists in the field of plastic surgery has launched the next charity event called "Operation Smile". Within the project, surgeons will carry out surgeries for 70 children with maxillofacial pathologies, who live in different regions of the Caucasus. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Chechnya.
Let us remind you that for the first time, the charity event "Operation Smile" was held in Chechnya in September 2008. Over the recent several years, experts in the field of plastic surgery carried out surgeries within the project for more than 600 children from Chechnya.
Yesterday, on October 29, a team of doctors from the organization "Operation Smile", including the best plastic surgeons of Russia, the CIS and far abroad countries, arrived in Grozny.
"During the week, they will carry out free plastic surgeries to children suffering from congenital maxillofacial pathologies, such as "cleft palate", "harelip", and others. The project, which is being implemented in our republic since 2008, is organized by Khasan Baiev, our well-known surgeon. In total, doctors plan to operate at least 70 young patients from poor, low-income and large families in need of that kind of surgeries," the "Caucasian Knot" was told by a source from the Chechen Ministry of Public Health.
