Election of the head of Kulinsky District was falsified, protesters in Makhachkala assert

The rally held in the capital of Dagestan in defence of citizens' constitutional and electoral rights was attended by about 250 people, who stated massive violations at the election of the head of the Kulinsky District of Dagestan, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

"There were pretty plenty violations in the course of preparing and holding the election. The first one was when on the eve of the voting the district was frequented by officials of Dagestani Govt... All of them made use of their administrative resources and local contacts to urge people to vote for Said Suleimanov," said Azhub Osmanov, the organizer of the rally and a former candidate for the post of the head of the administration of the Kulinsky District.

According to his story, in the course of the voting massive ballot throw-ins were observed; however, neither law enforcers nor members of the Republic's Election did anything to prevent violations.

According to Mr Osmanov, he filed an application with a demand to invalidate the election results with the Kulinsky District Court; it will be considered on October 23.
