Adygea launches project of computer basics for elderly and disabled persons
The Adygea Regional Office of Trade Unions of Russia "Sotsprof" has launched to implement in the territory of the republic the social programme "Grandma-online" "Grandpa-online", which is aimed to teach elderly and disabled persons computer literacy free of charge.
"A lot of elderly people are in need of communication, and acquiring new knowledge, state and municipal services in electronic form, they want jobs. All of those desires can be realized through computer and the Internet," told Zaurbek Shu, Chairman of the Regional Office "Sotsprof", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"It is a very simple and useful programme. Why had no one thought of it earlier? I will also pass training. Moreover, the training is free of charge! Not everyone can afford to spend 1,500 roubles per month for computer courses. Pensioners cannot afford," voiced her opinion Susanna Arigoeva, the resident of the village of Adamiy.
"Of course, we need such a programme; the Internet exists for only 20 years, and elder people, like me, are afraid to start using it. However, through the Internet I will be able to communicate without any problems with my grandchildren, they live in Greece; I will be able to learn the news, and I hope to use the blogs," says Timofei Fronkovsky, a resident of the village of Gaverdovsky.
