Lawyer Kunizhev quits Nalchik attack trial

Today, after a short break, the trial on an armed attack on Nalchik in October 2005, which is taking place at the Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria, was resumed.

The fact that the lawyer Anatoly Kunizhev had refused from his further participation in the process was reported at the start of the session by the Judge of the Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria Galina Gorislavskaya, who is presiding at the trial.

The republic's Bar has explained that Kunizhev had filed a petition to terminate his status of a lawyer and retirement.

The defence of the defendants Ruslan Amshukov and Zaur Tokhov was taken over by the lawyer Ruslan Ozrokov.

However, the defendants themselves expressed an intention to consult their relatives and may hire independent advocates at their own expense.
