Residents of Volgograd protest against doctors' incompetence
Today in front of the building, housing the Volgograd Regional Public Health Committee, a picket was held by relatives of those who fell victim to doctors' mistakes.
About 15 picketers were holding posters reading: "Doctor without conscience", "Executioner", "People in white overalls – show less negligence" and "Doctor's error is someone's life".
The organizers of the action were the Korovin spouses, whose two-year-old son died in November 2011 on the surgery table, the "Interfax" reports.
According to the Korovins, their son Anatoly was thrice wrongly diagnosed – doctors said SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) and infection; the baby died of peritonitis.
The conducted checks showed that the medical care was rendered to the boy within the established medical standards, and no criminal case was opened. However, the parents continue insisting that doctors were guilty, and that criminal proceedings should be initiated on the fact of their son's death, the Volgograd Portal "V1" reports.
So far, the officials from the above Committee and the doctors who had treated the child gave no immediate comments on picketers' statements.
