Armenian Parliament votes against cancellation of majoritarian election system

The Armenian Parliament by a majority vote rejected a draft law to introduce a 100-percent proportional election system.

Today, in the course of voting at the National Assembly of Armenia on the draft law on introducing amendments to the Election Code, involving the transition to 100-percent proportional election system, 56 MPs voted 'contra', 30 MPs 'pro', and 4 MPs abstained. Thus, the Parliament has rejected the draft law, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Let us note here that 90 MPs out of 131 participated in the voting.
