UN to allocate about 12 million US dollars to Azerbaijan to help refugees

In 2012-2013, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees will allocate to Azerbaijan assistance amounting to 11.8 million US dollars.

Out of 5,914,932 US dollars to be allocated by the UN in 2012, 4,296,141 US dollars will be going for the needs of refugees in Azerbaijan, 384,516 US dollars for improvement of situation of stateless persons, and 1,234,275 US dollars for displaced persons.

In 2013, the amount of budget allocated by the UN to Azerbaijan will be amounted to 5,921,150 US dollars. This was reported by the website of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Besides, to strengthen the system for provision of shelters to people, the organization will continue consultations with the Azerbaijani Parliament, law enforcement agencies, and the State Migration Service, the "Trend" reports.
