Rally "For Fair Elections" in Astrakhan attracted about a hundred persons

On February 26, in Astrakhan, an oppositional rally "For Fair Elections" took place. The action adopted a resolution and collected signatures to the letter to the Prosecutor's Office demanding to address the systemic refusals to sanction rallies and transfer them from away from administrative buildings to sleeping districts.

Let us remind you that the city authorities disagreed with the place of the action, as claimed by the group, and transferred the venue to the square, located two blocks off the regional administration buildings and the CEC.

The rally was attended by about a hundred people: activists of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" (Fair Russia), "Yabloko", Movements "Strategy 31", "The Other Russia", and nationalists. Officials of the OSCE came as observers.

The participants brought posters: "Putin's KGB agents strangle democracy in nuthouse: criminals!", "Vova, you're fired!", "For honest pancakes", "No to dictatorship of lies and frauds", "Vova, are you crazy? Go away!" and "Down with autocracy and throne succession!"

The rally adopted a resolution demanding to recognize the results of the elections held on December 4, 2011, to the State Duma and Astrakhan Regional Duma invalid and hold new elections. One of the demands was also to dissolve the election commissions at all levels, with subsequent formation thereof on a parity basis with equal participation of all registered political parties.

The resolution also contained a demand to cease harassment of the non-systemic opposition. The document noted the need to prevent frauds at polling stations and oblige the staff of the MIA to timely react to citizens' complaints. According to their version, those power agents guilty of concealing facts of frauds at the elections on December 4, 2011, should be dismissed.

The police had no remarks to the protesters.
