In Volgograd, ice falls from the roof and kills a man

A piece of ice weighing about a ton has killed a man in central Volgograd.

"The incident occurred at about 2:00 p.m. at No. 3 in Eletskaya Street. A large piece of ice broke off the roof and fell onto a passing man," the "Interfax" quoted a local law enforcer.

The man, whose identity is being established, died on the spot; he is about 45 years old by appearance, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The house is serviced by the "Maintenance Company of the Voroshilov District". So far, its employees have given no comments.
