Workers of Volgograd Shipyard ask to remove them from voters' lists of Russian presidential election
The workers of the Volgograd Ship-Building Factory (known as "VgSZ") do not want to go to the presidential election on March 4 and ask to delete them from voters' lists. This is stated in the open letter to the workers, which was signed by 63 persons.
"The reason is in the catastrophic situation at the enterprise. For four months we receive no salaries. Moreover, the gas supply to the factory was stopped. It has debts for electricity. We see no future in our factory; while for many of us it is the only way to earn," says the letter.
According to Maxim Zheleznov, one of its authors, the workers demand to pay off their wage arrears and want to draw attention of the authorities to the problems of the enterprise. They plan to hand the letter over to the Governor of the Volgograd Region and send it to presidential candidates.
So far, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments of the Director General Vadim Sobko.
