Chief Directorate of Interior Affairs verifies information from farmers about renewal of the activity of “Tsapok’s gang”

The police started an inspection in connection with the farmers’ statement that the organized criminal group (OCG) headed by Sergey Tsapok before his arrest was going on with its activities in Kushevsky and Leningradsky districts of Krasnodar region.

“Tsapok’s OCG not only continues its existence but is terrorizing legal leaseholders and owners of agricultural land parcels… We ask for verification of this information by a committee of independent experts and deputies of Legislative Assembly of Krasnodar region (LAK)”, the farmers’ appeal sent to Chairman of LAK Vladimir Beketov runs.

The landowners of Kushevsky district state that after Sergey Tsapok’s arrest his wife Anzhela-Mary Tsapok headed the criminal group.

In their appeal to Vladimir Beketov the group of farmers of Kushevsky district asks to protect them from the gang. In particular, according to their information, members of the criminal group started riding around the farms demanding millions rubles for the land shares they illegally received several years ago, ITAR-TASS reports.

The farmers’ message runs that only ten leaders of OCG out of 200 people in one way or another connected with Tsapoks’ gang were arrested, “Life News” reports.

Commenting on the farmers’ message Victor Pikalov, Head of Department of agriculture and processing industry of Kushevsky district, declared that during three days of his trip he “did not come across gangsters anywhere”. He added that he had never seen Tsapok’s wife who according to his information, lived in Rostov-on-Don at the moment.

“Land problem of itself does exist here like in other districts of Kuban but it is settled only in court. It is up to the court to decide which of the parties wins”, newspaper “Vedomosti” quotes Victor Pikalov.

Anzhela-Mary Tsapok’s position in connection with the farmers’ statement is unknown. Her name did not appear during investigative actions connected with Sergey Tsapok’s activities. It is known that she is bringing up two little children. There is also an information that in September, 2011, Pravoberezhny district court of North Ossetia sentenced her to a fine of 75 thousand rubles for giving a bribe to an official of State Traffic Safety Inspectorate.

The facts reported by the farmers have not been confirmed yet, Igor Zhelyabin, Head of Press service of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, said.

“An inspection is currently in process in connection with the appeal received by LAK. During interrogation carried out by the police farmers say the no one has extorted money from them, nevertheless the inspection is going on”, RIA “Novosti” quotes Igor Zhelyabin.
