Governor of Krasnodar Territory advises dissatisfied public servant to retire

Alexander Tkachov, Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, has advised in his microblog the medic, who had complained about low salary, to retire or to go unloading cars at night.

"I work at Hospital No. 2 in Krasnodar as engineer of medical equipment; I get 15,000 roubles! How can I live on that?" Yuri Budilnikov asked the Governor in the Twitter.

The Governor's answer was laconic. "Change the job," Mr Tkachov wrote in his microblog.

Later, Tkachov explained his position in several messages. "I answered you not as Governor, but as a man to man. You don't like you job, then, don't complain – just go and look for better salary ... To find one, you need to have desire, skills, experience and intelligence," said Tkachov.

"At the worst – there is hard physical labour; it is demanded; and they pay a lot for it... By the way, when I was in your age and I lacked money, I went and unloaded railway cars at night. And then, I learned how to earn more," Tkachov wrote in his microblog.

The dialogue has caused great resonance in blogosphere

"The whole Krasnodar blogosphere is abuzz on this topic. Today, this scandal has reached the federal level and is discussed at the top level and federal mass media. Does it look like resignation?" the user with a nickname mono-polist wrote in his blog on the Livejournal as a comment to Tkachov's response.

"In my opinion, the state officer, on whom jobs and salaries in the region depend a lot, had no right to say such things; one may think we are live here 'in chocolate', and some brat is just whining. The situation is far from that... People on whom the health of the nation depends earn pennies! In general, it's complete lawlessness!" wrote the mono-polist.

"If everybody changes job, then, who will stay to work in hospitals for 15,000 a month? Although 'real' men don't care about such issues: they had unloaded so many cars in their youth that now take their treatment in Switzerland," the user sebian wrote in his blog on the Livejournal.

However, there are those who support the logic of Tkachov's answer to Yuri Budilnikov.

"I support Tkachov, although I'm not a man. Maybe he should come to Budilnikov, feed him from spoon and wipe his snot?" the user olga_sk writes in the discussion of the mono-polist on the Livejournal.

"Maybe we don't live 'in chocolate', but as long as our men keep whining, complaining and asking what to do, we'll surely never live better. Thus, Tkachov was right: if you don't like anything in your life – go and change it," the user morozov_ylua wrote in the same discussion.
