Guus Hiddink signs as head coach of "Anji" FC
The "Anji" Football Club (FC) (Makhachkala) has officially announced conclusion of a 1.5-year contract with its new head coach – the famous Dutch specialist Guus Hiddink.
According to Mr Hiddink, he discussed the offer of "Anji" at the end of last year; thus, now he made a quick decision.
"I'm glad to get this opportunity – to work not just for a football team, but to work with friends who had invited me here. It is especially valuable for me that the club has serious plans for development of football in the republic; it is no less important than the sporting performance of the main team; and I plan to give special attention to this direction," said the coach.
Guus Hiddink has emphasized that he sees "in what large-scale project" he was invited. "I know the ambitions of the shareholder, the club and the fans; they are now known around the world; and I'll try to do everything possible to bring the performance of the club in line with these ambitions," said the new head coach of the "Anji".
