In Grozny, two children kidnappers detained

Two young women, residents of Grozny, were detained by law enforcers on charges of kidnapping two young boys for ransom, the local MIA asserts.

"They lived in a rented flat, where they kept by force two boys, aged 8 and 11. The children were kidnapped by them a few days ago from a woman of the city of Urus-Martan. They called at the door of the flat, where the woman lived, and when she opened the door, stunned her and fled together with her two boys. Then, they claimed a ransom of 1.5 million roubles for their liberation," said a police officer.

The children were not injured and are now with their mother. The kidnappers, who happened to be acquaintances of the husband of the injured women, are at the IVS (temporary detention centre), said the source. For kidnapping of minors for ransom they face up to 15 years of imprisonment.

The position of the detainees or their representatives is still unknown.
