Capital of Georgia hosts action in support of homeless people

An action of public solidarity "Let's save each other!" assuming to help homeless people during the cold season, is held in Tbilisi by the Media Union "Objective".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on February 11 two persons died from severe frost in Georgia. Another victim is in a surgical ward; doctors are trying to save his life. All the victims were homeless, and got frozen in the street.

In this context, a few days ago, Irma Inashvili, the head of the Media Union, asked citizens - on air of the "Objective" Radio - to report about the people who have to sleep in the street.

"Dozens of people came to the Media Union and brought warm clothes and small donations to help their countrymen. I haven't such unanimity for a long time," the "News-Georgia" quotes Ms Inashvili as saying.

According to her story, the needy people are invited to come to the "Objective", where they will be able to warm up, have tea and meals, and get warm clothes.

Also, as the "Georgia-Online" reports, the Media Union made an appeal to oppositional parties, aiming to come to power.

"Look out the window, set up mobile groups and find out how many people have to sleep in the street. Start a united fund, turn your offices into mini shelters and publish the addresses, which will be regularly announced by our radio station," called Inashvili.

The major thing is people's lives; and only then go elections, she said.
