Gimry villagers beaten by power agents feel satisfactory, head of village says
The health condition of the beaten residents of the village of Gimry, Untsukul District of Dagestan, Magomed Baisultanov, Aslangerey Magomedov and Zainudin Zainudinov, is satisfactory, said the head of the village administration Aliaskhab Magomedov. As reported by one of the power agents' victims, he is not going to complain about their actions.
On February 3, a villager said that law enforcers had detained – in the course of their operative-search actions – three local residents, who were later beaten.
According to Aliaskhab Magomedov, of the three villagers only Zainudin Zainudinov is still in bed.
"Zainudin is at home: he had an ankle dislocation, which was cured at a local hospital; while Magomed (Baisultanov) and Aslangerey (Magomedov) are already walking throughout the village," Aliaskhab Magomedov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
One of the victims, Aslangerey Magomedov, has reported the details of the incident to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"On that day, Zainudin, Magomed and I spent the night in the house of my aunt. When the time of the morning namaz came, Zainudin opened the door to go to the toilet. At that moment, a group of armed policemen in masks and camouflage were passing by. They saw an open door and immediately cried out: 'Hands up, get into the house!' They broke into the room; I was sleeping; they woke me up by a strong kick in the shoulder. They forced us down on the cold floor and took away our documents and mobile phones," said Aslangerey Magomedov.
It follows from his story that the detainees were then put into an armoured Ural truck.
"Policemen forced us to sit on our hunkers and took us to the post 'Shamilkala'. When the truck stopped, they shouted that we get out. We stood up, Magomed and I jumped out, while Zainudin had swollen legs; he was unable to stand up; thus, they rudely pushed him out of the car; and it was there that he got his ankle dislocated. Then, they put a bag over my head and put me into one car, and Magomed and Zainudin – into another one. They brought us somewhere, placed in different rooms, where we were beaten," said the young man.
According to his story, they beat them "to the blood". "Three persons were beating me, asking whether I knew a certain Suleiman Magomedov. I said I was unaware. By lunchtime, the beatings stopped; they took away the bag from head, took my photos, returned the phone and demanded to immediately leave the room. The same was done with my friends," said Aslangerey Magomedov.
He added that he was not going to complain anywhere. "Everything is under control in this system; you'll find no justice. Therefore, I see no reason to address anywhere."
On the day of the incident, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the on duty unit of the Untsukul ROVD (District Interior Division) that no incidents of that sort had been registered in the district within the day.
