Stavropol hosts spontaneous rally against corruption
This morning, about a hundred persons gathered near the city administration of Stavropol in protest against corruption among bureaucrats. Citizens began expressing their dissatisfaction after the head of the administration Igor Bestuzhij was detained on February 2 on suspicion of bribe-taking.
Let us remind you that on February 2 it became known that Igor Bestuzhij was detained on suspicion of an attempted bribe-taking in the amount of 50 million roubles for granting into lease a land plot of 5 hectares, which was in Stavropol municipal ownership. Currently, he is kept in custody in the city IVS (temporary detention facility).
The spontaneous protesters held posters: "Bes (Devil) of corruption!", "Stavropol without Bes!" and "Down with Bes' era!"
The rally began at about 11:30 a.m. and ended in about 20 minutes, after employees of the city UVD (Interior Department) asked citizens to disperse, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
