Five suspects of raping and killing a girl detained in Karachay-Cherkessia

Policemen have detained five residents of Karachay-Cherkessia suspected of raping and murdering a 16-year-old girl who disappeared in 2008, said today the Chief Department of Criminal Search of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). The date of detention is not reported.

According to the MIA, in mid-December 2011 during ground works in one of the republic's districts, a girl's body was found. She was identified as the girl missing since January 2008.

Soon, investigators managed to establish that five residents of Karachay-Cherkessia had been involved in the crime. The suspects were detained and, according to the MIA, confessed that after a party in the house of one of the detainees they raped and murdered a 16-year-old girl who also took part in the party, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
