New protest action of "Penta" and "Bora Inshaat" builders held in Grozny
On January 30, over 50 persons gathered in Akhmad Kadyrov Avenue in Grozny with a demand to have their salary debts paid.
Let us remind you that the builders' conflict with their employers from the Turkish construction companies "Penta" and "Bora Inshaat", engaged in erection of the "Grozny-City" complex, a medrese in Gudermes and other major objects, burst out in November 2011.
The builders held their protest actions in central Grozny on January 13, 16, 24 and 27.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by one of the protesters that on January 30 nobody from among state officials went out to meet the protesters; while the territory, where the action was held, was cordoned off by the police.
"They (policemen) were just watching what was happening, and since nothing illegal was going on, they did not use force, and made no attempt to disperse us. Usually, they try to disperse us, when the city holds some events. Recently, they brought Prophet's Hair (of Prophet Muhammad, - note of the "Caucasian Knot") to the Republic - on those days we were afraid to gather, knowing for sure that we'd be merely dispersed in the best case. Why can these people - so devout in their faith - remain indifferent to the real distress of builders, who stay without jobs and means of subsistence? Why do we need charity, when our rights are broken?" one of the protesters has asked.
According to his story, such actions are held in Grozny almost every day, "people come together in the hope that the authorities will finally notice them."
