Almost 20 educational institutions in Rostov region totally closed because of cold
19 schools and kindergartens in Rostov region were totally closed, seven more institutions stopped functioning in part. The reason was that the temperature in these buildings dropped under admissible level.
Press service of Department of "Rospotrebnadzor" in Rostov region reports that closing of the educational institutions was caused by aggravation of weather conditions and dramatic loss of air temperature.
"There are cases when part of the premises in one side wing meets the temperature standards and another does not. Then a school or a kindergarten is closed in part. But anyhow, there is no need to wait for our representative's arrival. This decision can be taken by the director or local authorities if it is cold in a school or a kindergarten", representative of "Rospotrebnadzor" Ludmila Stasenko explained.
According to the office, the majority of educational institutions are closed in the town of Shakhti where functioning of five schools and four kindergartens was stopped, RBC reports.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" informed that on January, 28, about 110 thousand residents of four districts of Rostov-on-Don were cut off water supply because of an emergency at the water conduit.
At night of January, 25, heat supply of the town of Gukov, Rostov region, was disrupted and on January, 23, a snowfall paralyzed the traffic in Rostov-on-Don.
