Yerevan to be capital of Bologna Process for three years
In June 2012, Armenia will be the ninth country, entrusted with the responsibility for organizing the Bologna process for the next three years, said Armen Ashotyan, Minister of Education and Sciences of Armenia.
"Armenia will be the first country among the CIS member-states and in the region, entrusted with such mission, and the second one in Eastern Europe," said the Minister during the sitting of the government on January 26.
He noted that the choice of Armenia as the capital of the European higher education is a sign of confidence in its education system, evaluation of the conformity of its implemented reforms, and recognition of its institutional potentials and capabilities.
According to Mr Ashotyan, a national team of the secretariat will be formed this June; and until June 2015 Armenia will take full responsibility for reforming the European university environment, the "News-Armenia" reports.
Currently, the secretariat of the Bologna Process is in Romania, the NEWS.am reports.
