In Volgograd Region, Uzbek workers get their salary debts

According to the Volgograd Regional Prosecutor's Office, on January 27, the 188 workers from Uzbekistan, who spend their winter in tents, received in full their salary debts.

For several months after the end of autumn field works, the citizens of Uzbekistan lived right in the fields of the Volgograd Region, where they had worked on vegetable plantations, in makeshift tents made of plastic film. The reason for this situation was in their employers, who had recruited them to work, but failed to pay off with the workers.

As a result of the measures taken by the Prosecutor's Office, nearly 200 foreign workers were paid their salaries, the website of the Office wrote on January 27.

Until the end of today, they will all go home, says the IA "Vysota 102".

The total indebtedness made 6.2 million roubles. At present, the officials of the involved agricultural enterprises are questioned; the accounting documents are withdrawn. The criminal investigation continues, the edition named "FederalPress" writes."
