Azerbaijan and Armenia accuse each other of breaking ceasefire
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated that today and on January 27 the Armenian Armed Forces repeatedly violated the ceasefire regime. At the same time, the Armenian MoD has claimed that on January 22-28 they registered about 150 cases of ceasefire violations by the Azerbaijani party.
"In the evening on January 27, the Armenian Armed Forces shelled, from their positions on nameless heights in the Berd District of the Republic of Armenia, the positions of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijani deployed near the villages of Garalar and Mundjuglu of the Tovuz District. Shelling was waged also from positions in other areas. On January 27 and 28, the Azerbaijani troops were shelled from sub- and machine guns from the position at the villages of Geyarh, Namirli and Gyzyloba of the Terter District of Armenia," the MoD of Azerbaijan has specified.
The "Trend" writes that the attack was suppressed by the response fire.
"The Karabakh-Azerbaijani contact line has seen about 150 cases of breaking ceasefire by the opponent," said the PR Department of the MoD of Armenia.
According to the Armenian party, on January 22-28, the opponent made more than 500 different-calibre firearm shots in the direction of Armenian armed forces.
The advanced forces in the Armenian refrained from responding to provocative actions, the "ARMENPRESS" reports.
