The Ministry of Emergency Situations: over 200 residents of Krasnodar district cut off electricity
This morning the city of Novorossiysk, several neighbouring settlements, Anapa and 7 rural settlements in the district were cut of power because of wire breakage caused by strong wind gusts. All in all over 212 thousand people and tens socially-significant objects are currently without power supply, officials of Southern regional center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" informed that at night of January, 27, strengthening of North-Eastern wind with gusts of up to 35 meters per second was expected. It was assumed that a wind storm could cause emergencies.
At 06:12 in the morning over 112 people, 5 hospitals, 9 schools, 12 kindergartens and 24 boiler-houses were cut off power in Novorossiysk and the neighbourhood. The medical centers and boiler-houses are now being supplied from a reserve system.
At 08:53 the town of Anapa also turned out de-energized. The total number of people living there who were cut off power makes over 100 thousand. The medical centers are also supplied from a reserve system but 31 kindergartens and 24 secondary schools are still de-energized, "ITAR-TASS" reports.
There are no classes at schools and all the child-care facilities are closed because of the emergency in Novorossiysk, Anapa and the neighbouring settlements. Emergency staffs of the Ministry of Emergency situations were created in both cities. Several tens experts are trying to rehabilitate power supply of socially-significant objects, first of all, schools and hospitals. A strong wind is literally knocking the electricians down. People are working at the limit of their resource regularly stepping in for one another, Life News reports.
