Andrei Krasnenkov: Ramzan Kadyrov not to challenge termination of criminal proceedings against Oleg Orlov

The Chechen Republic' leader Ramzan Kadyrov will not challenge the decision of the Khamovniki Court of Moscow to close the criminal case against Oleg Orlov, the head of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial". This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Andrei Krasnenkov, the Kadyrov's lawyer.

"I do not see any reason to file an appeal (to the termination of criminal proceedings against Orlov, note of the 'Caucasian Knot')," told Andrei Krasnenkov, the lawyer of the Chechen leader, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. He has added that Grozny is not satisfied with the decision of the court; however, the court's decision will not be challenged.

In his turn, Oleg Orlov, the head of the HRC "Memorial", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the issue of filing a complaint to the Moscow City Court was "a private matter of Krasnenkov and Kadyrov." "From the very beginning, I kept saying that the case will end with nothing and that it will fall apart. According to the law, I faced no prospects of conviction," stated the human rights defender.

The Kadyrov's lawyer has expressed his dissatisfaction with the actions of prosecutors, believing that "the public prosecutors acted in favour of the defendants."
