An official letter stating the refusal to hold a rally against power agents' lawlessness scheduled for January 27 in Makhachkala was sent to the Ministry of Justice of Dagestan by the organizer - Saadula Abusupyanov.

Let us remind you that the main demands of the would-be rally were to ensure people's rights to life, liberty, equality, freedom of conscience and religion, and personal safety. Local authorities had sanctioned the action.

The letter signed by Abusupyanov was sent today and registered at 2:15 p.m. (incoming No. 419). Khaibula Malachilov, First Deputy Minister of Justice of Dagestan, has confirmed the refusal of the organizers to hold the rally.

"According to Saadula Abusupyanov, who was, according to his earlier submitted application, the organizer of the action, he failed to find support from other organizers and said that all the issues they had planned to raise at the rally, can be settled in due course of actions," Khaibula Malachilov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to another version, Saadula Abusupyanov was forced to recall his application under a persistent advice of administrative bodies.
