In Novorossiysk, more than 2600 trees cut down illegally
In the city of Novorossiysk of the Krasnodar Territory, Unidentified persons cut down trees, causing damage amounting to 15.5 million roubles.
According to the prosecutor's office, unidentified persons cut down 1100 oaks and 1500 hornbeams in the Primorsky inner city District of the city of Novorossiysk. The exact time of cutting is unknown.
Materials on the fact of cutting were brought to the UVD (Interior Department) of the Primorsky District of Novorossiysk, the website of the prosecutor's office of the Krasnodar Territory reports.
A criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Article 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Acts of unidentified persons are classified as illegal logging and damaging to the degree of stunting of forest stands or trees, shrubs and lianas not classified as forest stands, in case if those acts were committed on a large scale, the "Yugopolis" reports.
