Baku hosts protest in front of French Embassy

Today, about 50 persons came to the Embassy of France in Baku to protest against adoption by the French Senate - the upper house of the parliament - of the bill assuming punishment for negation of the genocides regarded as such by the law.

The protesters chanted: "French Senate has burnt down truth and democracy!", "Shame on Sarkozy!", "France, we don't want to see you in OSCE Minsk Group!" and "Azerbaijan-Turkey!"

They read out a statement regarding the bill adopted by the French Senate and strongly condemned the actions of the French authorities, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The protest was organized by the public association "Ireli", the "Trend" reports.

Turkey has condemned the French parliament for adopting the law on punishment for denial of the Armenian genocide and threatened to completely break diplomatic relations with France. Meanwhile, the Armenian authorities have already expressed their gratitude to the leadership of France for adoption of the law.
