In Adygea, rescuers and foresters inspect the area of possible landslide

The upper section of the Belaya River in the dwelling settlement of Guzeripl is studied in search of a landslide, which has created problems in water supply to the village of Kamennomostsky, Maikop District. The works are on since January 12.

According to the data information received by the operative on duty shift of the Centre for Crisis Management of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of Adygea at 11:48 a.m. Moscow time on January 7, turbid water taken from the Belaya River began arriving into the water supply network of Kamennomostsky.

"Presumably, the reason for poor water quality was a river bank erosion and collapse of the rocks into the riverbed, which increased the level of suspensions in water," said Sergey Sergeev, the assistant of the head of the territorial body of the Russian MfE in Adygea.

Experts of the "Rospotrebnadzor" (Rusian Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision) for Adygea examined water samples and found that at the moment it does not meet the standards.

"The water that is now supplied to houses of residents of Kamennomostsky from the intake on the Belaya River, is fit for technical purposes only," said the local "Rospotrebnadzor".
