"Caucasian Knot" enters TOP-10 of Russian Internet for 2011

Following the results of 2011, the Internet edition "Caucasian Knot" entered the ten most cited news sources of the Runet and showed a significant movement in the rating among 7900 media, information about which was included in the study of the "Medialogy".

According to the statement of the independent Russian research company "Medialogy", in the segment of the Internet resources, most cited by printed media, the "Caucasian Knot" ascended by 13 positions during the year and occupied the seventh place.

According to the "Medialogy", in 2011, printed media cited an interview given by Alexander Khloponin, Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President to the North-Caucasian Federal District, to the "Caucasian Knot" in April 2011.

In the segment of the Internet resources, most cited by TV channels and radio stations, the "Caucasian Knot" has grown by three positions for the year and occupied the tenth place. The growth of the "Caucasian Knot" in the segment of the Internet resources, most cited on the Internet, included 5 points and made it possible to occupy the tenth position in the TOP-10.

In 2011, the "Gazeta.ru" became the leader of the citation in printed media, on TV channels and radio stations, and bloggers and news agencies most often cited the "Lenta.Ru". Besides, the "Lenta.Ru" became the leader among the Internet resources, most cited on the Internet.

According to the "Caucasian Knot", in 2011, readers wrote 143,403 comments within discussion of the Internet edition materials. Total number of registered users reached 11,179.

The study did not take into account international and specialized resources. In particular, the materials of the Internet edition were referred to by such influential media as the "New York Times" and the "Associated Press". Business media showed increased attention to the edition: the references to the "Caucasian Knot" appeared in the editions "Wall Street Journal", "Financial Times", "Economist" and "Business week", and in the materials of the news agencies "Reuters" and "Bloomberg". The blogosphere actively quoted the "Caucasian Knot". According to the "Yandex", in 2011, blogs, forums and social networks made more than 6000 references to the "Caucasian Knot".
