Dagestani woman asks Russian president to protect her son from power agents

Zagra Magomedova, a resident of Makhachkala, has sent a letter to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev asking him to stop the harassment by local law enforcers of her sick son Ruslan Magomedov.

"On July 12, 2011, my son was shelled by policemen and received numerous wounds of his lower extremities; thank Allah, he is alive. Then, the police declared Ruslan a militant and started persecuting our family. For a long time Ruslan was not allowed to get out of the republic to take his treatment, although he had direct indications for that. Upon his return home, they again don't let us alone; I hope maybe Russian President Medvedev could help," Ms Magomedova said in her interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to her story, the latest incident occurred on the eve of the New Year. "On December 30, 2011, early in the morning there was a deafening knock at our door. I opened the door - and six persons literally broke in: three in police uniform and three in camouflage and masks. I asked to show documents; only one of them did it - Magomed Alishikhov, a district policeman from the Novy Posyolok, while we live in another district," said the woman.

Magomedova was shown "a search warrant signed by Zainulabid Abdulmuslimov, a senior investigator of the investigatory division of the Kirov District of Makhachkala."

"The warrant said that in the evening on December 29, 2011, unidentified persons executed a policeman; and there was a version that Ruslan could be involved in the crime. I was shocked, as my son can't move at all since summer, because of his wounds; and there were such accusations presented," Ms Magomedova was outraged. The policemen searched her house, they found nothing.

The woman said that she had also sent applications on the fact of illegal actions to the Investigatory Committees and Prosecutor's Offices of Dagestan and Russia.

In their turn, the on duty unit of the investigatory division of the Kirov District said that they knew nothing about the incident, but promised to help the woman, if she approached them personally.

Let us remind you that on September 8, 2011, the father of the wounded young man - Magomedemin Magomedov - told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that law enforcers did not allow his son to take his treatment in another region, because he was a witness in some criminal case.
