The students of Azerbaijan collected 15 thousand dollars to help people in need in Somali
On January, 12, Union of youth and students' organizations of Azerbaijan accomplished the "Campaign of aid to Somali" which started at the beginning of October, 2011.
Students of institutes of higher education and colleges of Baku, Ganja and Sumgait took part in the action. The campaign was supported by a number of state institutions and by joint efforts 15 thousand US dollars were collected and transferred to Somali with the help of Red Crescent Committee.
All the campaigns went under the slogan "One manat - one life", 1news.az reports.
An action was held upon the results of the campaign in which Shakhin Ismailov, Chairman of Union of youth and students' organizations of Azerbaijan (UYSOA), Hikmet Guseinov, representative of "Bas,ak-I.nam" insurance company, an official representative of Central Election Committee and activists of the campaign took part, Bakililar.AZ referring to Press service of UYSOA reports.
