Four children perish in fire in Krasnodar
According to preliminary data, violations of fire safety in using furnace heating have caused a large fire and subsequent deaths of four children in a private house near Krasnodar.
At night on January 7, in the outskirts of Krasnodar, a fire that burst out in a two-storey private house killed two girls aged 8 and 12, and two boys aged 2 and 3 from a large family. Besides, their 42-year-old mother and 44-year-old father and a sister of 15 and a brother aged 2 years 7 months were hospitalized.
According to the Southern Regional Centre (SRC) of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), by the time the first fire-fighters arrived, the house was fully captured by fire.
"The area of ignition made 250 square meters. Its preliminary reason is in violations of fire safety in using furnace heating," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the SRC's statement.
The house was inhabited by a large family that reared eight children; four of them were adopted ones. At the time of the fire, two older sons were not in the house, the portal "Yuga.ru" reports.
