Russian Embassy to Georgia demanded that Georgian authorities inquire into attack on Russian diplomat

The Russian Embassy to Georgia demanded that Georgian authorities immediately launch an investigation in the armed attack on charge de'affaires of the embassy Viktor Rynza, press secretary of the Russian Embassy in Tbilisi Denis Gonchar reported via phone.

"The Russian Embassy expresses a stern protest in connection with the crying crime, which threatened the embassy staffer's life," Gonchar said. "The embassy insists that Georgian authorities would take all the necessary measures concerning the arrest of the criminals and prevention of the similar incidents in the future."

Russian Embassy to Georgia Charge de'Affairs Viktor Rynza received various injuries as a result of the attack in Tbilisi on December 5, at 8:30 a.m. The unknown criminals hit the diplomat on his head and stole a car of the Russian Embassy.

"The Russian part reminds that it was not the first case when Russian citizens and staffers of the Russian Embassy in Tbilisi fall victims to various crimes," reads the statement of the embassy. "With all this going on, no investigation has yielded concrete results and led to the punishment of the criminals."
