Public Chamber of Russia and rights defenders study circumstances of special operation in Dagestanskie Ogni

A groups of rights defenders arrived in the city of Dagestanskie Ogni. The purpose of the visit is to explore the reasons why women become supporters of the illegal armed formations.

The television journalist Maksim Shevchenko, the member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Gasan Aigunov, Chairman of the Commission of the Public Chamber on protection of the rights of persons held in detention facilities, Abas Kebedov, the head of the public organization "Akhlsunna-va-Jamaa", the member of the Public Chamber of Dagestan, visited the place of the special operation that was held on July 24 in the city of Dagestanskie Ogni.

According to Gasan Aigunov, a wounded Zagra Kadimagomedova does not deny that she is involved in the illegal armed formations. Her second husband was a killed Islamudin Guseinov. Her first husband was killed or blown up, Zagra herself could not remember. According to Aigunov's information, killed militants and their civilian wives were on the operative search list. According to the story of Zagra Kadimagomedova, she had to hide in different apartments, fearing fraud criminal prosecution.

Magomed Khanmagomedov, the correspondent of the newspaper "Chernovik" (Draft), who was also present during the conversation of rights defenders with Zagra Kadimagomedova, reported the name of the woman who was killed during the special operation. It was Maryam Chernikova. She came from the Stavropol Territory to show a child to her husband. At that time the house was shot. Their "forest" husbands Bashirov and Guseinov were killed, and women tried to escape through the kitchen garden. When they were crossing the street, Maryam Chernikova was fatally wounded.

Magomed Khanmagomedov quoted neighbours who claimed that Maryam Chernikova had been injured and asked for help. According to the law enforcement agencies, she had a "shahid's belt" with her.

Gasan Aigunov also told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the group of rights defenders was trying to establish a civil dialogue, to be intermediaries directly in the places of special operations in order to avoid losses of human lives and further escalation of tension in Dagestan.
