NAC claims to prevent a series of terror acts in Dagestan

As a result of special operation in Dagestan during one day several terror acts were prevented, reported the Information Centre of the National Antiterrorism Committee of Russia (NAC).

"Well-timed destruction of "death laboratory" and neutralization of 13 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in total capacity of about 90 kg in TNT equivalent allowed preventing a series of terror acts in Dagestan and avoiding many casualties," the NAC reported.

According to NAC, on June 17, on Friday, in the village named after Shaumian of Kizlyar District in Dagestan, a member of the so-called "Kizlyar raiding-terrorist group" was detained, who was its 'demolition man' and who was involved in manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs), which were earlier used for the demolition of railway transport, the "Interfax" reports.

Besides, power agents discovered a cache, which contained a 200-litre plastic barrel, three IEDs in the form of 15-litre buckets filled with an explosive mixture and striking elements, and a mine detector. NAC confirmed procedurally that all three improvised explosive devices were prepared for operational use, the RIA "Novosti" stressed.
