NAC: Amanov liquidated in Makhachkala headed local militants and was Said Buryatskiy's associate

Sabitbai (Sabitbi) Amanov, assassinated in Makhachkala, was an associate of Said Buryatskiy, militants' ideologist, who had been murdered earlier in Ingushetia; Amanov actually headed the Makhachkala subversive and terrorist grouping. This was reported by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC). The counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the district.

Let us remind you that Amanov was killed this morning in the course of a special operation carried out in Makhachkala. According to power agents, he was found in one of the houses, and in response to the demand to surrender, he opened automatic fire. He had a Kalashnikov, a pistol, a "shahid's belt" with explosive and plenty of ammunition with him.

The special operation was conducted in the village of Novy Khushet of the Lenin District of Makhachkala; residents of nearby houses were evacuated, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

As stated by Nikolai Sintsov, the spokesman of the NAC, Amanov was blocked in a private household in the course of checking the received operative data. "He was recognized as one of the leaders of bandit groupings operating in Makhachkala, closely associated with Said Buryatskiy," said the spokesman.

According to power agents, Amanov, a native of Kazakhstan, born in 1983, underwent his subversive and terrorist training in one of militants' camps in Pakistan. In 2007, he was a member of the armed underground in Ingushetia, one of the closest associates of Said Buryatskiy.

He arrived in Dagestan in 2008 and was the chief explosion specialist in the ranks of the underground of Dagestan and trained young militants. After the death in December 2010 of Amir of Makhachkala Magomed Sheikhov, Amanov became an actual leader of Makhachkala militants, the "Interfax" reports.
