Azerbaijan: dozens of imprisoned oppositionists went on hunger strike

Some dozens of Azerbaijan opposition activists who are serving terms for participation in the mass riots after the October 15 presidential election have gone on hunger strike. They demand that they should be discharged. The Azerbaijan government has already reacted by stating that the oppositionists will be fed "artificially", despite their refusal to eat.

There are 4 activists of the main opposition Musavat party among the hunger strike participants.

  • Chechen advocate Timur Idalov requests clarification from court

    Lawyer Timur Idalov, sentenced for threatening a public prosecutor, appealed to the judge of the Khimki City Court, pointing out the violation of the norms of criminal procedure law in the decisions on his case. Because of the above-mentioned violations, as Timur Idalov claims, he was unlawfully left in a SIZO (pre-trial prison).
