FSB blocks weapon delivery channel from South Ossetia to Stavropol Territory

Agents of the FSB department for the Stavropol Territory blocked the channel of delivery of weapons from South Ossetia to the Stavropol Territory.

Two residents of the territory, involved in rehabilitation of infrastructure of South Ossetia after the war in August 2008 got into focus of attention of the FSB.

The territory of South Ossetia has plenty of military machinery, weapons and ammunition, remaining after the war; and the suspects were trafficking in them. According to the FSB, they were transporting weapons in hiding places of their service truck, the "Interfax" reports.

FSB agents addressed them under the guise of customers and made two test purchases. A Kalashnikov submachine gun, for example, was 38,000 roubles. A criminal case under the article assuming 2-6 years of imprisonment was initiated against the suspects, the State TV and Radio Company (STRC) "Stavropolye" reports.
