Krasnodar: participants of actions in memory of slain fan claim unjustified detentions

Today, most of the detentions during the unsanctioned public action in memory of Yegor Sviridov, assassinated Moscow Spartak fan, were unjustified. This was stated by protesters, while militiamen stress that this was the way to prevent riots.

The protesters report that at the preset time people began to gather in the area of the "Kuban" Stadium, coming there in small groups, but encountered militia's resistance.

"There were plenty of power agents there - buses for detainees were seen; horse-mounted militiamen were there; more agents were on duty in cars around looking from behind tinted glasses. Militiamen were surrounding small groups of arriving protesters, trying to figure out who the organizer of the event were," said the participants.

According to eyewitnesses, the commemoration place with photos of Yuri Volkov and Yegor Sviridov, flowers and candles, organized a few days before that, was demolished.
