About 60 persons detained in central St Petersburg
The militia detained a group of young people near the metro station "Sennaya Ploschad" in St Petersburg, where disorders were expected in the evening on December 15. Some of them had traumatic pistols and edged weapons on them.
"Some 60 persons were detained; they were taken to militia stations for compiling administrative protocols," the GUVD (Chief Interior Department) of St Petersburg has reported.
The GUVD spokesman has added that traumatic and bladed weapons were found at search and confiscated from many of them.
There are persons both of Slavic and Caucasian appearance among the detainees, the "St. Peterburg.ru" reports.
According to official information, the operative situation in Sennaya Square is under control; the militia is ready to stop any illegal activities, the "Interfax" reports.
The "Fontanka.ru" adds that no incidents related to the planned action in Sennaya Square have been registered in other districts of the city.
