Deputy of Kuschevskiy District suspected of fraud

Sergey Dzyuba, Deputy of the Kuschevskiy District Assembly, Krasnodar Territory, and Alexander Popov and Tatiana Alekseenko, residents of Krasnodar, are suspected of embezzling 107 million roubles from the OJSC "Rosselkhozbank".

According to the investigators, the District Deputy founded, along with his two fellow countrymen, the Limited Liability Company (LLC) "Chance", and then "after creating visibility of solvency" of this company, took a bank credit.

As reported by Ivan Sangerov, Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigation Department of the ICPO for the Krasnodar Territory, the criminal case has been already sent to the Public Prosecutor of the Tsentralny District of Krasnodar for approval of the indictment.

Currently, Dzyuba is in custody, while Popov and Alekseenko were sent home under recognizance not to leave, the "RBC" (RosBusinessConsulting) reports.

Meanwhile, the advocate of the brothers Sergey and Victor Dzyuba asserts that the criminal case against them had been initiated under the pressure of Sergey Tsapok, a suspect of murdering 12 persons on November 5 in the village of Kuschevskaya.

As reported by advocate Sergey Zhorin, who is representing the interests of Dzyuba brothers, in 2006 Tsapok and law enforcement officials under his control organized a raider's capture of the Dzyubas' enterprise "Sever Kubani", which owned a large amount of agricultural land near the Kuschevskaya, the RAPSI reports.

In his turn, Igor Shemetov, an inspector for especially important cases of the Investigatory Division for the city of Krasnodar of the Territorial ID of the ICPO, said that prior to the massacre in Kuschevskaya, Dzyuba and his advocate had not said a single word about Tsapok's involvement in the case. According to the inspector, this is a peculiar way of defence, chosen by the advocate, the GZT.RU reports.
