At a rally in Krasnodar, members of garage cooperative complain of massive extortions

The Komsomolsk District of Krasnodar hosted a protest action of city residents, members of the garage-building cooperative (GBC) No. 44, claiming massive extortions of bribes by their GBC bosses and inaction of the authorities.

The protesters wrote and collected signatures under appeal to the head of the city Vladimir Evlanov with a demand to address the situation.

"We, law-abiding citizens, are exposed to extortion of money for building some ephemeral multi-storey garage in place of GBC-44," said the protesters. "The fraud and forgery were proved by the investigation and not overturned by the Sovietskiy District Court on criminal cases; however, we still cannot find justice."

The action was attended by about 40 residents of Krasnodar; and as noted by the organizers, the pouring rain prevented a mass action.
