Rally of football fans in Moscow escalated into clash with OMON fighters

At the rally of football fans, held in Manege Square in Moscow in memory of Yegor Sviridov, who perished on December 6 in a mass brawl of football fans with residents of Northern Caucasus, several persons were detained.

The rally turned into a massive clash of football fans with OMON (special riot militia) agents.

Law enforcers detained the football fans who threw bottles at police, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

"Fans refuse to leave the square. Additional forces of militia and OMON are brought to the venue," the "Interfax" quoted its law enforcement source.
Under estimates of law enforcement officials, more than a thousand football fans gathered in the square. Eight persons were injured in clashes.

Several dozen fans attacked three natives of the Caucasus and began beating and kicking them. OMON fighters managed to oust the attackers away. The victims are under medical care.
