Inspector from Kuschevskaya rejects GPO's accusations

Ekaterina Rogoza, an investigator of the Kuschevskiy ROVD (District Interior Division), who had posted her video appeal to the Russian President on the Internet with accusations against high-ranking law enforcement officials, has rejected the information about concealment of her incomes and her unofficial contacts with the family of Sergey Tsapok.

Today, the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) has reported that Rogoza had her personal interest in sheltering in 2009 criminal activities of members of Tsapok's grouping; in particular, of Vladimir Alekseev, suspected of murdering 12 persons; she closed cases against him for four times, as well as concealed her income from giving land into lease.

Ekaterina Rogoza said that she was not familiar with anyone from Tsapok's gang, and faced Alekseev only within this check. The inspector has stressed that, apart from the check in relation to Alekseev, she did not conduct any checks in respect of other members of Tsapok's gang. "I have never intersected with them, and never received any gifts, money and valuables from them," Ms Rogoza has added. Her closing the case against Alekseev did not cause any claims by her bosses, she said.

The woman also explained that the GPO had distorted information about her property. In particular, according to her story, she owns not 36 hectares of land but 12, which she got by inheritance; she mentioned it in her tax declaration, as well as the fact that she may gain profits from this land, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Ekaterina Rogoza also stated that her health has worsened, and she plans to go to hospital.
