Editor-in-chief of "Serdalo" will be ensured safety under witness protection programme
Most probably, the car of Hussein Shadiev, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Serdalo", was shelled by militants, as Andrei Zhulyabin, head of the division for supervising investigation, inquiry and operative search of the prosecutor's office of Ingushetia, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"At the moment, the prosecutor's office is preparing documents as needed to ensure safety of Hussein Shadiev under the state programme of protecting witnesses," said Mr Zhulyabin.
Shadiev was wounded, when his car was attacked by unidentified persons on November 22 in Nazran.
"Unfortunately, such attacks are rather frequent in the republic. The victims are usually militiamen, public leaders and clergymen - people with active civil position," said Andrei Zhulyabin.
A staff member of the newspaper "Serdalo" said that Shadiev already left the hospital. "It seems he is OK; so far, he left Ingushetia," he added; however, the editorial board could not anything more.
The newspaper "Serdalo" is one of the oldest editions in the Republic of Ingushetia; it was founded in 1923.
