Militia unit shelled in Makhachkala
Yesterday, on December 2, in the outskirt of the capital of Dagestan, unidentified persons shelled three militiamen of the "Almaz-240" unit. In the skirmish that followed one of the attackers was supposedly wounded. In their escape from the chase, the criminals consistently hijacked four cars.
The incident occurred at about 4:00 p.m. in Peter the Great Avenue. Nobody was hurt among the militiamen, but their car UAZ "Hunter" was holed in several places.
After the skirmish the attackers hijacked, under threat of firearms, a Mercedes-600 car. However, after a 200-meter drive they changed it for a VAZ-2112; then, they hijacked a Lada-Priora, and then - a VAZ 21099, the RIA "Dagestan" reports with reference to the local MIA.
In the venue, militiamen found a homemade "Borz" machinegun with a magazine and a sports bag with plastic clamps, a black mask, adhesive tape and a blanket.
A criminal case was initiated under Articles 317 (attempt on the life of law enforcers) and 222 (illegal arms possession) of the Criminal Code, the "Rosbalt" reports. At the present time, search of criminals continues.
