Chechnya natives detained after quarrel with shooting in Stavropol Territory

Militiamen have detained four natives of the Chechen Republic - residents of the city of Zelenokumsk, Stavropol Territory, who probably instigated a conflict with local youth with use of traumatic pistols and firearms.

Eight persons were wounded tonight in a conflict with use of traumatic pistols and firearms among residents of Zelenokumsk. Among the victims, there are 7 Cossacks and a Chechen. One of them is taking his abdominal surgery in a local hospital.

One of the participants of the conflict - a Cossack - said that he visited the hospital where the victims were taken. "Three have broken legs; one is wounded in his back; and one is rather grave - a penetrating wound, a bullet in the liver, possibly, from a machinegun. All are still alive, there is no danger; they'll survive. Now, investigators are questioning; militiamen arrived from Stavropol," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the Cossack.

This night, about 100 people gathered in the place of the fight. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the press service of the GUVD (Chief Interior Department) of the Stavropol Territory that no escalation of the conflict towards a mass revolt was admitted.

At the moment, as reported by the GUVD, the situation in Zelenokumsk is well under control, the "Russian News Service" reports.
